![]() (Yes, there are known issues with Inkscape failing to handle large raster image imports and huge files with just vector data, but Inkscape 0.48 should show much better performance since Bug #168914 in Inkscape: “Too many heap sections” () was fixed or at least improved for the Windows port of Inkscape.) What are the limits for the files to get imported by Inkscape for you?ĭo you import several images into one Inkscape SVG document, or does it also fail when only trying to import a single one? My operation system is Windows 7.Ĭan you give some numbers what you mean when talking about size? like file size, resolution and image size. Is there a limitation for size, or can I avoid this problem somehow, as I do not want to reduce the resolution size of the import files considerably. I require high resolution to see all aspects when doing the vector drawings in inkscape. ![]() The time inkscape needed to import the (connected!) file was about 2 minutes which, I assume, is a sign inkscapes is at its limit in handling this file-size. After re-sizing the not-importing image to a size of the does-import image Inkscape accepted the import without problem. It appears to me that the size of the jpg seems to be the crucial point. ![]() I checked on different ways of getting it into inkscape (import copy from Paint-paste in inkscape saved as new from Paint open the jpg with inkscape) and finally also checked all settings of the jpgs that worked and those that doesn't. The program reported that the "embeded image could not be found. Now I had problems importing these jpg-files, which never happened before. My usual workflow is as follows: I compile single line drawings (jpg or tiff scans) in Adobe Photoshop CS5, reduce all layers when done to background and export it in high resolution to jpg. Since a few month I am using this program that is great for my basic work as biologist making scientific drawings and tabels. I just came accross a problem using inkscape.
